The Zippo Leaguer, affectionately known as "Rod", was bred and raised by Jane McCurly-Backes of Dallas, Texas.  Jane's breeding program emphasizes strong maternal lines crossed with premier sire lines in the nation.  Jane carefully researched the genetic implications of breeding her point earning daughter of Ima Big Leaguer, a Hall of Fame pleasure sire, to Zippo Pine Three, out of the legendary Zippo Pine Bar.  The resulting cross, The Zippo Leaguer, maximized the temperament, movement and performance capabilities of both sides of the pedigree, traits he is passing along to his offspring.  Rod earned his first Superior in Open Western Pleasure, is nearing completion of his Superior in Amateur Western Pleasure, and has points in Horsemanship and open Halter.  He is the winner of multiple circuit awards, several Reserve Champion at Halter awards and is a World Show Qualifier.  Rod's oldest offspring foaled in 2003 and are just starting to enter the performance arena.

The Zippo Leaguer is standing the 2007 breeding season at Town & Country Vet Clinic for a fee of $800.  Incentive fund eligible.  Call for futurity eligibility, early booking and multiple mare discount.
